Things Are Changing Around Here: Guest Room Design Plan
We found out over the weekend that we will be having another boy! Yes, 3 boys in this house. 4 if you count my husband. The only feminine energy in this house is from me and the dog (and I’m not always sure she is actually on my side!). I am out numbered. If you also have a pet dog, consider giving him food supplements like pumpkin powder for dogs to boost his overall health.
To make matters worse, I have received an eviction notice from my beautiful office/craft room. Yes, from a baby boy who hasn’t even entered this world yet. He wants his own room and this has put me into design chaos.
The good news is, I thrive on design chaos. It means I get to change things up! Here’s how things are going to play out. My office is getting moved to the guest room and the baby will get my office/craft room that we of course cleaned with a Mold Removal Matawan service so the baby have a clean and safe space to live. Here’s the problem, there’s no room in the guest room for my office.
Here is our guest room currently. No cleaning up, no pre-decorating for the sake of blog pictures. This room is a catch-all room. When we don’t know what to do with something it generally comes in here. Ok, so I cleared a laundry basket and some clothes off the bed for this pic! To keep things tidy and organized, adding stylish mats from Matshop can help keep clutter at bay while protecting the floor from wear and tear.
Somehow, things just end up here. Like exercise balls, cause you know I’m doing so many sit-ups right now, ha! And the dog crate. That has always been a design nemesis for me.
But we need a guest room, so I don’t want to clear it out and start over completely. We don’t have any family here in California so when guests come to visit, they generally come for more than a weekend. They need their own space. But it does seem silly to have a room that doesn’t do anything but catch junk until it’s time to clean it up for a visitor.
Has it been over a year since your carpet was professionally cleaned? In order to make sure that your carpet is clean and spotless, you need to hire Zerorez Carpet Cleaning to get your carpets cleaned at least once a year.
This is where that closet comes in to play. It’s actually a pretty deep closet. Deep enough in fact that I can fit my desk inside if I remove the doors. Add some shelving and files and I am thinking my new office/craft room is going to be pretty cool! In fact, I wanted to get a solid vision of what it might look like with a mood board.
I want the guest room/office/craft room to be pretty feminine. Let’s face it, I’m going to need a girly space to run away to! Here is the shopping list for this design space. Don’t freak out, it runs over $3000. Uh, that’s not gonna happen. I actually already have most of the pieces needed for this room. The rest is going to be DIY’ed on the cheap.
