Thanksgiving Printable and Perfect Chalkboard Writing
I’m loving my “new” chalkboard in my family room. It was so easy to just flip an old painting around to convert it into a chalkboard. You can see that process here. But I have to say, writing on a chalkboard is not the easiest thing for me to do. I don’t have calligraphy perfect handwriting and no matter how many straight edges I use my words always end up on a slope. So I cheat!
The process is really easy, I print off what I want to add to my chalkboard either from a file that I have found in a search or a design I have made myself. I enlarge the image by using a website called Block Posters. You can upload a jpeg image and set it to print across multiple sheets of paper. I just pieced the image together and rubbed the back side of the image in chalk.
Then I taped the image to my chalkboard and went over the outline of the letters and design with a pencil. The chalk on the back of the image transfers onto the chalkboard. Then here is the secret to getting your chalk really vibrant. Dip your chalk into water before you start writing. Just a quick dip, don’t let it swim. As the chalk dries on the board it gets really opaque. Super easy right?
And guess what! I thought you might want a printable of your own so I whipped one up for you. Free for you to use, print and enlarge. It will look great in a frame on your Thanksgiving buffet or print one out as a hostess gift if you are heading over to someone’s house. Truly, it doesn’t even need to be put away after Thanksgiving. Keep one up year round as a reminder of your blessings!
