Shop Update
I know its been awhile since I have talked much about the space I rent in The Spotted Cow. I love my retail space. It’s a great place for me to play around with my displays. I love to style my space and change things up a bit when things sit too long. Sometimes selling something is just a matter of changing up the accessories or moving in into a different area in my space. I carry the furniture that I paint, Sweet Pickins Milk Paint, Antiques and Vintage Finds and I carry small retail items too. So the combination of these gives me a lot to work with. I just changed up my space a bit in the last week so I thought I weould give you the dime tour.
I moved my favorite farmhouse table that I use for display up to the front of my space. It’s a great spot to display small items and I’ve added a few things for Fall and the Holidays.
I always have boxwood in my space. Of course, it’s beautiful for Christmas but it adds a pop of color to your decor and my space year round! And I had to sell these musical sheet paper chains. I kept a few for myself for my Christmas tree this year! Oh and you might recognize that chair for sale here.
Birch is my new obsession for the Holidays. I can’t wait to show you all how I am using birch in my Thanksgiving table setting. These birch wrapped zinc buckets are so beautiful. Each one is a little different and I am imagining putting things like paperwhites, rosemary topiaries, boxwood or even pinecones or ornaments in them for the Holidays.
You never know what I might drag into the store to use in my displays. I was driving the kids to school when I saw the tree trimmers piling up the tree trunks from someone’s yard. Luckily, I had fixed my hair and put on makeup that morning and the tree trimming guys were more than happy to put these heavy trunks in my car for me!
My Sweet Pickins Milk Paint display is packed! I just rearranged it to make it a bit more stylish but I might switch it back to having the paint all lined up. I think it might be easier for customers to see the colors that way.
I cut this picket fence into manageable sections, perfect for a front porch. These will look so cute decorated with greenery for Christmas.
I won’t lie, I think about finding a place for this school house desk in my house all the time. I picture it as a bedside table. If it doesn’t sell soon, it might have to come home with me.
This cute little mint cabinet is just waiting for a good home! How cute would this look in a bathroom or kitchen?
That brings me full circle to the pink vanity and layered milk paint side table and right back to the milk paint! Hope you had fun on my tour. If you are in the Walnut Creek, California area, I’d love for you to stop by and say hello!

Hi Adrienne! I just had to stop by and tell you how gorgeous your shop is! You’ve done an amazing job! I can tell how much work you’ve put into it – it really shows. I hope I can stop in sometime when I’m in Walnut Creek (that’s where it is right?). I get my hair cut in Walnut Creek because that’s the closest town with a curly cut specialist 🙂 Have a great week girl!
