Inspired Designs Monday: Easy 4th of July Decorating

My favorite holiday is just around the corner. What other day is celebrated with a morning parade, lounging by the pool in the afternoon, grilling out for dinner and a fireworks show to round out the night? None other than 4th of July! Thank you Forefathers for giving us the chance to celebrate freedom and independence all while not having to buy a single gift! Of course, last week I showed you how I decorated for summer by adding seashells into my decor.  This week I want to show you how I did some easy 4th of July decorating that compliments my seashell summer decor.

Let’s start at the front door. I added some dollar store decorations, flags from last year’s 4th of July parade and lots of red, white and blue.

The chevron flag sign is from Hobby Lobby. And I picked up the Hydrangeas at Trader Joe’s.

I picked up a new red, white and blue bunting at Hobby Lobby to hang on my wrought iron fence and I layered it with a banner I bought at The Spotted Cow. 

And check out this Star String Art I also picked up at The Spotted Cow. I love looking at the intricate weaving of all that string! It’s so cool!

This might be my favorite 4th of July decoration. I made this wreath last year from cheesecloth and flags that I tea stained to make them look old. I think it turned out great!

I even dressed up my ivy topiaries with some bunting I made from tape (yes, tape!) and more flags.

Heading indoors I didn’t change a whole lot. I just added into my summer seashell decor.

I simply changed out my roses for white hydrangeas and added a few more flags and some scented candles from candle wholesalers in Australia.

Here is my boys favorite part of this years 4th of July decorating! The candy bar! They are just dying to bust into all that candy, but I am making them pace themselves. Honestly, I have never done a holiday candy bar before. But I always love how festive it looks, with all those coordinating candy colors. So I thought I would give it a try for the 4th. The dentist would not approve, I’m sure!

Remember when I showed you some easy tips for styling your coffee table?  I have kept my coffee table pretty much the same and I just added in some patriotic decor.

I bought this hat at a vintage shop last year and its probably one of the best 4th of July decorations I have. I love all that it has going on. It a bit over the top but that’s a good thing!

And finally, I added a few more flags and a vintage measuring tape star to my 3 tier basket.

 

I think it fits right in with my sand dollars!
