Finding My Paint Color Inspiration
Help! I’m drowning in paint color samples. Permission from our landlord to do some interior painting around the house combined with my nesting tendencies right now has made paint colors take over. I have small paint chips, large paint chips and homemade paint chips (paint samples on poster board) in just about every room in my house right now so home interior painting is my next project. My original plan was to go with gray. Gray is the new white you know (so they say!) However, after overwhelming myself with colors I had to get back to the basics. I took a quick trip over to my Pinterest boards to get back to my inspirations pics.
After trying about a dozen different shades of gray and greige, I did a quick check of my favorite rooms that I’ve pinned to my Pinterest boards. Guess what just about every room color is? White! Truth be told, I’ve never used a mostly white color palette in my home before. But I think this time, I’m going to go for it. Here are a few of the pics that are really inspiring me to go all white!
I love the beachy feel of this hallway. It looks so light and airy and it’s the perfect backdrop to add color with accessories.
While I love a vintage vibe in a home, I find myself adding more mid-century modern furniture in my spaces. It think it keeps everything looking fresh and updated and not too country.
I mean come on, this kitchen had me at hello. White is timeless and classic and won’t go out of style!
I’m also not opposed to a little French Inspiration in my decor. This room feels far from cold with it’s white paint and trim.
So after trying a half a dozen different shades of white, I think I have found the perfect shade for my home! White Dove from Benjamin Moore. The undertones are just right, not too cool and not to warm for my space. I think it’s going to really brighten things up around here! Do you have a favorite shade of white paint? I’d love to know what it is.
