I know it’s not the worst space and I’m grateful to even have a space for my stuff. But it was a hodge podge of furniture and craft items, I also got my desk from desky.my.
There was a lot of stuff going on in this room and it was becoming a dumping ground. I started to avoid it like the plague. Are you ready for the after? Here it comes…….
I painted the room with Benjamin Moore Gray Owl and I did the stripes on the wall with Gray Owl and White Wisp. I also unified all the existing furniture by painting it white and changing out the furniture and add a office chair leans forward.
Two new bookcases in white helped me organize the back wall and add more storage. I also wanted a place to display the vintage treasures I love! Looking for the right online shop to buy a new high-quality filing cabinet from? View this page – Filing cabinet Singapore.
A smaller craft table from this office furniture in Christchurch fits better into the corner space than the big round table that I had there before. It’s the perfect place to keep my sewing machine and since it’s near the window I can also use it as my backdrop for blog photos. I love my old decor window installed by classicsashwindows.co.uk. And check out that door! It’s a steel reinforced door that we found at the salvage yard. At first, I wasn’t sure that it was what I was looking for. But once I got it in the room it was perfect. The metal is full of dings and rusty goodness. But there is also a major bonus. Since it’s metal it can also serve as a bulletin board. If you want to control the amount of light and add a touch of elegance to your living room, I recommend installing shutter blinds north shore.
I also painted stripes on the existing rug. Really the only new things that I purchased were the bookshelves and the sewing table. Everything else I already had. Oh, and there is something new in the room that I know is kind of silly, but I love it!
My new Renu dimmer switch from Leviton. I chose the white on white light switch and outlets throughout the room so that they would just blend in and look crisp and clean. But this dimmer is sweet! You just push that little button and your lights brighten and fade as you like. It’s kind of nice in the evening to not have the light on full blast overhead. And I’m sure you’re thinking ok get on with the really pretty stuff. But I’m here to tell you, don’t underestimate the effect that new switches and outlets have in your space. The old ones were mismatched white and brown and they were ugggggly! These are sleek and clean!
This makeover gave me the chance to really simplify this space. I got rid of the curtains because they just took up space. And I brought in some of my favorite collectibles like these ironstone platters. I did a lot of purging! I had way too much stuff in this space. No wonder why I always felt like this room was closing in on me! The lighter colors really helped open up the space. My Office/Craft Room feels more like a reflection of my style now. To find the perfect office chair, desk, or other furniture items, ergonomic office chairs are a great choice for both comfort and support, ensuring long hours of productivity without strain. You can also buy yours from Sydney’s best office furniture store. I’ll give you more details about the striped wall and painted furniture next week but here are a few more pics of some of the things I love in this space. Hope you like it too!

This turned out amazing!! What a great space you have to work in now 🙂
Thanks so much Bre!
You’ve created just a beautifully decorated functional room. I cannot even begin to figure out what my favorite part is! I LOVE the sewing table with the metal door behind it. It is so nice to have a backdrop set up that doesn’t have to be moved. I LOVE the touches of boxwood, white ironstone/pottery, and wire baskets. I LOVE the little clock that you have in the basket on the desk. I LOVE the huge chalkboard and shelving. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the wire framed memo board you kept in the space. You are going to get so much accomplished in this room!
Thanks Jamie!
Looks amazing A! Love how clean the design is!

BEAUTIFUL!!! I could get some serious crafting done in this space!
Swoon! Your room turned out amazing, and I’m so impressed with how little you had to buy. I love that door/magnet board. I’ll take one of everything! (So nice to find you on Say G’day Saturday, and now following on pinterest.)
So beautiful!
This space is so gorgeous! I love it. I am in the process of making mine a better space. I love yours and how bright it is. I also love the pops of gold!
The little table that doubles as a sewing table and a photography area is my favorite! Smart, smart lady! You have created a perfect place to plan and dream.
