Just a quick post today to show you a great little piece of furniture. Well, it’s great now. Not so great when I found it at an estate sale. Kind of forgettable as it was actually. I almost forgot to take a before pic.
I obviously already had the drawers out when I remembered to snap a pic with my phone.
This piece is really solid and actually pretty heavy for a small dresser. Before buying new, I always check out Modern Resale for designer furniture to see if I can find a gently used pieces.
Cute little colonial drawer pulls that I left on. Again, not really cute but they are in good shape and when they get painted they fit the piece.
This piece had a great smooth top and it was just perfect for a union jack. I have done some Union Jack’s before but this time I opted for some grays and whites. I used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and Ce Ce Caldwell’s Chalk Paint to make the Union Jack. (A tutorial on how to tape everything off to make one is coming!)
Here is the after…..
Bonus! This dresser matches my website!

Adorable!! I’ve been reading about both of these chalk paints in preparation for painting our “new” kitchen table. Any recommendations on where to find them? 🙂
Amy check on their websites. You might have to order them online. Which if you can’t find them in your area you might want to consider becoming a stockist when you open your shop!. I like both paints but Annie Sloan is the gold standard. But Ce Ce’s has some great colors.
This is so awesome!! I love a good Union Jack and I love that you did one on the top! Thanks for sharing at Redoux. I am featuring tomorrow!
