I have been really busy getting ready for the upcoming sale at Now and Again in Livermore. Just when I think I have everything ready to sell I come up with another project to add. But here is a little sneak peek.
Not super happy about the way I have the pom poms hanging but I might head down again tomorrow night to make a few adjustments. It is always a challenge getting things accomplished in between dropping off and picking up kiddos. Why can’t they make their school start and end times the same??!!!
In the meantime, I have been trying to get my house Valentine’s Day ready!. These apothecary jars have been sitting empty since I took out the Christmas ornaments and they were looking pretty lonely.
I usually fill these with decorations, but I finally decided to do the one thing that I knew would make my kids (but not the dentist) sooooo happy. I filled them with candy. You should have seen my boys’ eyes when they realized the color in the jars was indeed real candy. And that they were allowed to nibble it!
Quick tip here, since these jars were large I placed an upside down cup in one to take up space. It did save me about a bag of candy. And in the other apothecary jar I used an empty toilet paper roll to take up space. Now in theory this should have worked brilliantly. And it did until the candy got low enough that of course you could see the fillers. And with 2 boys it didn’t take long. So we did have to take them out. Which was like watching a candy tide drop in the jar. Those fillers really did take up a lot of space. So I do recommend them if you are just going to use the candy as decoration and not snacking.
It’s also good to know that at any given time the candy is being guarded by a top-notch Lego security system.

Great idea to use cups or tp rolls for filler! It can take a LOT of candy to fill some jars and the candy is rather expensive. Plus my girls don’t need that much candy around – LOL!
